Dr Steve Gardner
Steve Gardner brings over 30 years of experience building high-performing teams, products, and companies
across precision medicine, drug discovery, and computational biology in the UK and Europe.
He has led the development of globally recognised genomics platforms, AI-enabled drug discovery
solutions, and advanced analytics for life sciences and healthcare, resulting in multiple patented
innovations. Previously, he served as Global Director of Research Informatics at Astra and
contributed to the early Human Genome Project, collaborating with leading pharmaceutical companies
on more than 30 drug discovery and development programmes.
Steve is Chair of the UK BioIndustry Association's Data, AI and Genomics Advisory Committee, a
member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Our Future Health, and serves on the Industry Advisory
Groups for UK Biobank and the Health Data Research Service. He is an Expert in Residence at the
University of Oxford and an Editorial Board member for AI in the Life Sciences.
